Customised Pianos

The only limit is your imagination

Did you know you can change the appearance of your piano?

You probably knew this but I'm guessing you don't realise the extent of the custom options available to you.

Starting with a fine quality piano, the essence of the instrument is the case which contains the acoustics - the sound related items; soundboard, frame, strings, action and keyboard. There's not much scope for customising the acoustic parts, they provide the sound quality and the designers from Steinway, Bluthner, Bosendorfer and Bechstein etc have determined what's best for their particular instrument so it's best to leave well alone.

That leaves the case itself and everything connected to it and there's a huge amount of customisation that can take place. We have the craftsmen, the materials, our own design thoughts and together with your own ideas we can do something very special.

We can customise the visual appearance of your piano to your exact requirements and it will still retain the sound quality and playing characteristics of the original.

For example:

  • You have a traditional wood finished piano but would like it in black or white polyester (or any other colour). This is a normal procedure and is inclusive in our standard restorations as a no cost option. For a customisation how about having your name brass inlaid into any location on the case, lid, music desk. Black and brass is very effective. You've seen brass inlay before - above the keyboard with the manufacturers name and we'll inlay your brass to the same standard (incidentally, when we restore a piano it's standard practice of ours to replace the manufacturers name with new, so when it comes to brass inlay we know a thing or two).
  • You have a black piano but would like it returning to a traditional wood finish. We'll re-veneer the entire piano in your chosen finish. Please see the veneers listed in the menu on the right. Then you have the choice of french polish or high gloss polyester.
  • An artwork case. Let's take veneering one stage further. Using inlaid veneer (marquetry) we can produce a vast array of effects, from simple lining to floral designs and beyond. If you've got a design, chances are we can reproduce it.
  • Sometimes your existing piano legs are out of sync with the theme of your room. So change them! You require an Art-Deco piano - no problem. Need wood carvings and other embellishments - no problem.
  • Are you an interior designer or art director and need something special, then talk to us. Also anyone who wants a customised piano, we are here to help.

I think you get the picture. Lots of options.
